We have owned many different breeds over the years but came to realize that there is no breed that can compare to the Standard Poodle. Throughout their long history, Standard Poodles have been known as perhaps the smartest, most lovable, and loyal of all breeds. They are excellent pets for children, and are extremely friendly, as well as protective. They are excellent workers as seeing eye dogs and for those with other disabilities. Their lean and tall physiques contribute to their majestic stance and fantastic agility.

We live in a home on Long Island, with our children and our dogs. The dogs are an important part of our family. They love to run and swim and live very comfortably. We love our dogs and couldn't imagine not having this dimension of companionship in our lives. We want those who make the commitment to have a Tafarrah Standard Poodle join their family, feel the same as we do about ours.

This is why, first and foremost, we breed our dogs for health and temperament. We want to make sure our dogs become part of a loving family and enjoy many years of happiness. But, we are also committed to better the breed for conformation and structure. Therefore, all of our litters are sired by AKC registered CHAMPIONS. Glancing at their pedigrees, you will find their family lineage has produced an abundance of champions (You'll find links to the pedigrees on the Puppies page).

We take our breeding program very seriously. We strive to produce excellent quality puppies, whether for a loyal pet, a show quality dog, or a working dog.

We test all of our breeding dogs for genetic diseases inherent in Standard Poodles today, due to years of inbreeding by irresponsible breeders, puppy mills, pet shops, etc. When your curly baby has lived to a respectable age in good health, you'll be glad you spent the extra time and money to ensure the parents are fully tested.
