The Alcott Group (Farmingdale, NY and Buffalo, NY), one of New York State's most prominent Professional Employer Organizations (PEO), announced today that Julie M. Winkelman, a Human Resources Specialist with the company's Western Division located in Buffalo, New York, has earned her Certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). The prestigious PHR certification is awarded by the Human Resource Certification Institute, an organization affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). This credential signifies that Ms. Winkleman possesses the theoretical knowledge and practical experience necessary to pass a rigorous examination demonstrating her high proficiency within the field of human resource management.

Directly prior to joining The Alcott Group, Ms. Winkelman served as the Human Resources Manager for MJW Corporation (Amherst, NY), where she was the sole HR contact for 110 employees located in 13 states. In addition to her position at MJW, she was an Agency Personnel Development/Recruiting Representative for MassMutual Financial Group (Buffalo, NY). There she was credited with developing online recruitment contracts and an orientation program for new agents which resulted in the agency's ranking third out of 86 agencies in MassMutual's nationwide Internet Recruiting contest and helped MassMutual Financial Group exceedits yearly recruiting goal.

Ms. Winkelman holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Additionally, she holds an MBA in Marketing/Management Consulting from the University at Buffalo. Her continued education includes successful completion of the Skillpath Training: Human Resources and the Law course, as well as the FranklinCovey Training: Seven Habits of Highly Effective People program.
