Michael LaMancuso, Western Division President for The Alcott Group,
Addresses the Buffalo Niagara Partnership's Small Business Development Council
Farmingdale, NY, Buffalo, NY…
The Alcott Group of Farmingdale, NY, The Alcott Group (Farmingdale, NY and Buffalo, NY), one of New York State's most prominent Professional Employer Organizations (PEO), recently reported that its Western Division President Michael LaMancuso was a panel member in the November 16th Small Business Development Council Meeting sponsored by the Buffalo Niagara Partnership. Mr. LaMancuso, who is a volunteer member of SCORE, was part of a panel discussing "Cost-Cutting Ideas for Business Owners." He was joined on the panel by Chuck DiNatale and Roger Severson. In his discussions, Mr. LaMancuso focused specifically on the human resources (HR) component of hiring, firing, training and rewarding of employees and how to quantify HR and related costs.
HR and specifically, HR outsourcing is the primary focus of The Alcott Group. The company serves small, growing businesses as a complete HR outsourcing resource for employee-related services including payroll administration, employee benefits design and administration, tax administration and regulatory compliance. The PEO enables small businesses to focus on core-revenue producing functions, while assuming the administrative burdens associated with all of these areas and managing the related risks and liabilities. There is the additional advantage PEOs afford in giving these businesses the ability to compete on a more level playing field with larger companies in terms of employee recruitment and retention by enabling them to offer equally competitive benefits, as well as many value-added benefits (e.g., shopping, travel and entertainment discounts, etc.). Alcott holds the prestigious Employers Services Assurance Corporation (ESAC) certification -- the equivalent of what FDIC is to the banking industry for the PEO industry and a testament to it high standards.
SCORE is recognized as "Counselors to America's Small Business" and a premier source of free and confidential small business advice to entrepreneurs. The organization has helped 7.5 million small businesses some of which now have household recognition such as Vermont Teddy Bear, Vera Bradley Designs and Jelly Belly Candy.
The recent program is just one of the ways the organization helps small businesses with timely, leading-edge information from experienced, knowledgeable professionals such as Mr. LaMancuso and his fellow panel members.
