The Alcott Group Opens Manhattan Office

The Alcott Group (Farmingdale, NY and Buffalo, NY), one of New York State's most prominent Professional Employer Organizations (PEO) providing a comprehensive Human Resources outsourcing solution, announced today that it has opened a new office in Manhattan. The new location at 5 Penn Plaza in New York will be Alcott's third office. The company is headquartered on Long Island in Farmingdale and maintains its Western New York Division office in Buffalo.

According to Alcott President Louis Basso, who co-founded the company in 1986 with Executive Vice President Barry Shorten, "This new location provides us easier access to our existing client base in Manhattan and the boroughs, and supports our new business development activities in the region."

Since its inception, Alcott has followed a steady, consistent course of growth. That growth has earned the company a place on regional "fastest-growing" and "largest employers" lists such as the Long Island Top 50 Privately-Owned Companies, 25 Fastest-Growing Private Companies, Long Island Top 100 Private Companies and the Crain's New York Business list of New York's Largest Privately-Held Employers. In 2005, the company completed its first acquisition of then Contract Staffing, a Buffalo-based PEO creating a strong presence both downstate and upstate. Last year, the company marked its 20th anniversary with an expansion of its corporate headquarters to 10,000 square feet.

Today, Alcott provides its services to over 200 affiliated companies and their combined employee base of 4,000. Alcott's direct, in-house staff consists of 32 employees in Farmingdale and 12 in Buffalo.
