The Alcott Group (Farmingdale, NY and Buffalo, NY), one of New York State's most prominent Professional Employer Organizations (PEO) providing a comprehensive Human Resources outsourcing solution, announced that Human Resources/Payroll Liaison Marie Carman, serving in the Farmingdale office, has earned the Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) designation awarded by the American Payroll Association (San Antonio, TX). To gain the FPC credential, Ms. Carman had to successfully pass a comprehensive three-hour examination.
Ms. Carman joined Alcott in 1996 as a Payroll Specialist. In 2007, she was named Human Resources/Payroll Liaison. In this role, Ms. Carman is involved in all aspects of payroll processing, billing, direct deposits and customer service on behalf of Alcott's over 200 affiliated companies and their combined employee base of 4,000. In addition, she is responsible for the company's "After Hours" program, which provides employee discounts for movies, Broadway shows, car rentals, flowers and other value-added offerings.
Ms. Carman is a member of the American Payroll Association (APA) and the local APA of Long Island.
She resides in Levittown, NY with her husband, Gary and their three children
