Alcott HR Group announced the appointment of Rob Hamel as Human Resources Representative serving in the Western New York Division. In his new role, Mr. Hamel is working with clients and employees to assist with benefit inquiries and handle the benefits administration of all of the benefits that Alcott offers, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Savings Accounts, Life and Disability insurances, and the 401(k) plan for clients of the Western New York Division.
Directly prior to joining Alcott HR Group, Mr. Hamel served as Benefits Coordinator for Kaleida Health (Buffalo, NY) where his responsibilities included maintaining files and processing employees’ DBL, Workers Compensation, Family Medical Leave Act and leaves of absence, as well as working with insurance carriers in these areas, providing support to the company’s Benefits Department and verifying employee medical information.
In addition to this position, Mr. Hamel’s professional career includes a position as a Leaves Administrator with NCO Financial Systems (Getzville, NY). He also served as a Human Resources Intern with Montserrat College of Art (Beverly, MA), a Human Resources intern with the Human Resources Department of Erie County (Erie, NY) and an Intern, in the Training and Development Department of Hunter/Argentine Consulting (Buffalo, NY).
Mr. Hamel earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Buffalo. He also holds an MBA with a Strategic Human Resources Concentration from Medaille College (Buffalo, NY) where he was chosen for the MBA program’s 2nd year project for exceptional students and was ranked among the top 10% in a competition involving multiple schools in the final MBA project.
His professional affiliations include the Buffalo Niagara Human Resource Association (BNHRA) and Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
